Are You Living with Missing Teeth?
If you or someone you love is living with missing teeth, then you know that they take the joy out of the everyday things we love. But did you know that missing teeth can have negative effects on your health, too? Healthy teeth are important for a strong, healthy jaw, and when a tooth is removed because of damage or decay, the underlying bone can deteriorate and shrink. The empty space left by missing teeth can also cause surrounding healthy teeth to shift, resulting in a misaligned bite and crooked teeth.
Replacing your missing teeth will help you eat your favorite foods with ease, talk and smile with confidence, and enjoy a healthy smile for years to come!

Dental Implants

If you struggle with loose, ill-fitting dentures or a retainer with false teeth, you could be a candidate for dental implants! Dental implants are fixed replacements for missing teeth that are surgically positioned in the jaw bone, then topped with a natural looking restoration. Implants provide permanent and stable roots for dentures, crowns and bridges, which can resolve many of the practical and social problems commonly associated with removable dentures. Healthy dental implants can last for years, and are an excellent way to prevent the bone loss that can occur after tooth loss.
Dr. Mughal believes it is best to have the same dentist who places your implants also be the one to restore them. This is why he’s been trained in the surgical phase of dentistry in addition to restorative phase, allowing you to receive all of your implant treatment in one office.
An implant is a small titanium screw that serves as the replacement for the root portion of a missing natural tooth. Implants can be placed in both the upper and lower jaws. Due to the biocompatible properties of titanium, the implant will fuse with the jawbone in a process known as osseointegration, which usually takes between three and six months. Once it’s completely integrated, the implant serves as a solid anchor for the replacement crown or bridge that Dr. Mughal will place on top.

Dentures
If you are not a candidate for dental implants or are looking for a more cost-effective solution, dentures can help to maintain the shape of your face and improve the look of your smile after you have lost your natural teeth. We can even create dentures that resemble your natural teeth to minimize any change in your appearance. Dentures can even be attached to dental implants for improved function, comfort and stability.
Fixed Bridges
Bridges replace one or more missing teeth with artificial teeth, literally bridging gaps in the mouth. This prevents the remaining teeth from shifting, which can improve the alignment of your bite, the function of your temporomandibular joint (TMJ), the clarity of your speech, and even the health of your gums. Fixed bridges are anchored either by a crown on a nearby tooth or by dental implants, so unlike removable bridges, they can only be removed by your dentist.
